How is the water taken from the ground?
The mineral water is drawn from underground springs 60150 m below the ground, which are hermetically sealed so that the water cannot be contaminated by any foreign matter, not even air. Piping draws water from these springs into large tanks, where any superfluous iron is then removed. After this it is ready to be bottled.
What is the shelf life of mineral water?
The shelf life of Mattoni and Magnesia natural mineral waters and Aquila table waters is 12 months after the date of production. Flavored Mattoni mineral waters and Aquila soft drinks and teas have a shelf life of 12 months after the date of production. The best-before date, which is marked on every bottle, guarantees the freshness and characteristic taste of every drink.
What are flavored MATTONI mineral waters made from?
Flavored Mattoni mineral water contains: Mattoni mineral water, sugar, natural flavoring (lemon, orange, peach, grapefruit and green apple), citric acid and ascorbic acid, and sodium citrate. Its metabolize energy is 1820 kcal/100 ml.
How does the company ensure the quality of the drinks?
Our laboratory continually checks each batch of incoming raw material delivered. The water arrives continuously via piping and its sources are connected to a computer where we can monitor all-important parameters. A microscopic and chemical examination of the water arriving at the plant, as well as of finished mineral waters, is performed once a month.
Are mineral waters suitable for infants feeding and small children?
Suckling infants should only drink a limited quantity of mineral water. Water specifically labeled as suitable for infants is more appropriate for them. This is the case with AQUILA still table water, which is used in hospitals and maternity hospitals because it is suitable for preparing baby food. Extra special care is taken with this water and each batch undergoes a microbiological and chemical analysis before filling. Can we be sure that the bottles are one-hundred-percent clean?
The quality of the water is also guaranteed by the fact that the bottles are thoroughly cleaned. Glass bottles, which are returnable as empties, are checked before being cleaned to ensure that they are not damaged and don't contain any objects. The bottles are then cleaned in a bottle washer with a hot alkaline solution and rinsed several times with water before being filled..
PET bottles are non-returnable. They are manufactured from semi-finished products, i.e. so-called preforms. After being moulded, these bottles are rinsed with a disinfectant fluid and rinsed out several times with mineral water.
